SpokenVizions Youth Poetry Project (S.Y.P.P.) is designed and developed to inspire, empower and to allow young people, both male and female, from seventh grade through twelfth grade, to be expressive, critical thinkers, develop leadership skills and focus on becoming better individuals through the arts.
We believe that the youth has a very powerful voice and it MUST be heard and allowed to flourish through creative expressions. Developing writing schedules and learning to freely transcribe their thoughts onto paper, as well as transforming it into performances is an incredible way of tapping inside of the power of self.
This program will increase self-esteem, create an artistic family environment, improve male and female relationships at an early age, and it will teach them how to partner up and work collectively with other students while building respect for self and for humanity.
Our sessions are held at the lovely Grand Center Creative Arts Building (CAB) located at 3617 Grandel Square, St. Louis, MO 63103. Within our sessions, our students will be participating inwriting and performance assignments, workshops, and preparation for a poetry anthology featuring all of the participants in this program. It is our job to help our students to acknowledge, realize and develop their visions in order to empower them to be consistently brilliant.
We encourage our youth to dream and proactively move in the directions of making their dreams a reality. Currently S.Y.P.P. is NOT a not-for-profit program, BUT with the success and growth of this program, it is our vision to become a 501C3 non-profit organization.
